HOW TO BURN THE PERFECT CANDLE

how to burn the perfect candle

Something we get asked a lot is how to burn the perfect candle. We’ve compiled this easy to follow guide, to make sure you get the best from your candles every time!

THE FIRST BURN
The first time you burn your candle, you need to make sure you let the wax melt to the edge of the container. The wax pool you get the first time you burn your candle will be the wax pool you get every time you burn your candle, so it’s really important to get this first burn right! A larger wax pool also gives a better scent throw, so you want as large a wax pool as possible to get the best fragrance from your candle. Our large jar candles, for example, will give a better scent throw than our medium jar candles due to the wax pool being bigger.

WHAT IS 5 FREE NAIL VARNISH?

what is 5 free nail varnish

Most of us are concerned with what we’re putting into our bodies when it comes to diet, but when it’s something to do with what we’re putting on our skin or nails we’re often less bothered. We’re already massive champions of natural skincare and haircare here at Hopscotch, but when we started looking into what we were putting onto our nails we were shocked. Since we introduced our signature range of polishes, we’ve been regularly asked “what is 5 free nail varnish?” — so we thought we’d write this to explain a little bit more.

ALTERNATIVE EASTER GIFT IDEAS

Easter is nearly here, and after Christmas this is probably our favourite holiday: the flowers are great, the sun is (hopefully) out and sugar consumption is at an all time high. We are of course overly excited to eat lots of chocolate, but we decided it would be great to have some alternative Easter gift ideas this year, something that will last longer than Sunday morning!

So we’ve chosen some of our favourite Spring and Easter themed gifts, so you can be the Easer bunny this year but with a bit of a mix up!

SPRING IS HERE, AND SO IS OUR SPRING CANDLE!

Hopscotch Soy Candles

The jury is out on when Spring officially starts, it’s all a question of meteorological vs. astronomical seasons, apparently… Weathermen say it started 1st March, but astronomers say it doesn’t start until 20th March. Either way, it’s a lot sunnier than it was and we are having to wear one less layer when we go outside, so we’re calling it — Spring is here! To celebrate, we are launching a brand new spring candle fragrance that’s fitting for the season — Rose.

That’s our excuse anyway… and as we still have another 2 weeks to wait until Shrove Tuesday we thought we might as well start our chocolate spread influx now.
